FA Ministry: Peru and China strengthen bilateral ties

The Embassy of Peru in China celebrated the 203rd anniversary of independence and the bicentennial of the consolidation of our republic with an official reception.

Chinese Vice Foreign Affairs Minister Hua Chunying and numerous ambassadors honored the event, reaffirming the solid bilateral ties.

Peruvian Ambassador Marco Balarezo highlighted the achievements in the Peru-China relationship, such as the State visit of President Dina Boluarte; the signing of 13 bilateral agreements, including the Joint Action Plan 2024-2029; and the announcement of the completion of negotiations to optimize the Free Trade Agreement.

In turn, Vice Minister Hua Chunying expressed her appreciation for the results of the State visit and its contribution to deepening our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Likewise, the Chinese government official highlighted the substantive results of the two bilateral meetings between both countries' leaders in a period of eight months.

She also reminded attendees of the importance of Peru's Congress declaring the Day of Peruvian-Chinese Brotherhood every February 1, which reflects the strong ties between the two countries.
