Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi called on foreign investors to trust Peru's macroeconomic soundness and take advantage of the opportunities offered by the South American country.

Within the framework of her participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, the Peruvian Cabinet member said it is a fact that the economy will continue to grow, consolidating Peru as a reliable partner.

"There are multiple opportunities in the country that can be taken advantage of," Gervasi expressed at a forum on the political situation in Latin America.

The Peruvian Government representative indicated that the current crisis situation constitutes an opportunity to reaffirm common values of cooperation and solidarity.

Similarly, the high-ranking official pointed out that President Dina Boluarte's Government maintains a commitment to the population so that the country's growth becomes more equitable.

In this sense, she said it is important to implement new social pacts so as to strengthen the State role with the aim of moving towards the consolidation of a more just society.

Minister Gervasi mentioned the political and social situation in Peru.

On behalf of the government, the high-ranking official lamented the deaths which have occurred in recent weeks in the context of protests, thus expressing her condolences to the bereaved.

To deal with this context —she said— the Executive Branch established a multisectoral commission aimed at attending to the injured citizens and the relatives of the deceased.

Steps have also been taken to guarantee the right to defense of peaceful protesters, Gervasi indicated.
