Café Britt Perú is planning to open three new stores across the country this year because of the strong demand for Peruvian coffee, cocoa and crafts, the company's general manager, Jose Vasquez de Velasco, said Monday.

Vasquez de Velasco detailed that two stores will open in Peruvian provinces and one in the capital Lima.

Café Britt Peru, a Peruvian company founded with international capital, has been operating since 2005 at the Callao processing plant, where the best Peruvian coffee is produced in order for people to enjoy the unique freshness and flavor that characterizes Café Britt.

Café Britt Peru's stores are cozy and bright places that combine art and hand-painted wooden designs with landscapes of the Peruvian mountain range and forests.

At these warm and pleasant stores people can find traditional crafts, candies, preserves, chicha morada, maca nectar and Inca Kola. Also, the book section offers the work of recognized Peruvian photographers and writers, and the most important book collection of the country’s cuisine.

Souvenirs with Peruvian motifs, magnets, key chains, caps, pins and t-shirts are displayed throughout the stores.

“Cafe Britt is present in 80 percent of five-star hotels nationwide, because we focus on the inbound and corporate tourism markets,” he told Andina.

Regarding the sale of crafts, he said that Café Britt has suppliers in Cusco, Ayacucho, Piura, Lima, Junin, Ica and Arequipa.

“Since the beginning of our company in 2005 until December 2008, Cafe Britt Peru invested US$ 3.68 million in purchasing Peruvian crafts for their stores in Peru and other countries,” he said.
