10:24 | Lima, oct. 28.

The Urban Mobility Department of the Municipality of Lima will implement rolling road closures and traffic diversions today, Wednesday, October 28, during the fourth procession of the Señor de los Milagros (Lord of Miracles), to facilitate the movement of the faithful.

These measures will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, until 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29. Road closures will be implemented progressively—moving along with the procession—allowing sections to reopen once the procession has passed.

Route and affected streets on October 28

The procession will begin at the Santuario de las Nazarenas (Sanctuary of the Nazarenes) on Jirón Huancavelica, continuing along Avenida Tacna, Avenida Nicolás de Piérola, Jirón Cañete, and Avenida Alfonso Ugarte. On the latter, there will be two stops: the first near San Bartolomé Hospital, and the second at Arzobispo Loayza Hospital.

The procession will then continue along Avenida Venezuela, Avenida Bolivia, Jirón Varela, and Avenida Garcilaso de la Vega, before finally turning onto Avenida Tacna to return to the *Santuario de las Nazarenas*.

Roadways along this route will be closed progressively; restrictions will shift as the procession moves forward. This approach allows for sections of the road to reopen once the procession has passed, ensuring that not all streets remain closed for the entire duration.

Vehicle detours along avenues

The Municipality of Lima has established detours for public transport services traveling along Tacna, Garcilaso de la Vega, Alfonso Ugarte, Venezuela, and Bolivia avenues, as well as Nicolás de Piérola Avenue, depending on the specific sections affected and the direction of traffic.

Roads designated for these detours include Prolongación Tacna, Francisco Pizarro, Caquetá, Tingo María, Óscar R. Benavides, Mariano Cornejo, Brasil, 28 de Julio, and Arequipa avenues, as well as the areas surrounding the Dos de Mayo, Ramón Castilla, and Bolognesi plazas.

These changes also affect services within the "complementary corridors" (bus rapid transit networks), which will need to adjust their routes to align with the detours established for Tacna, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Garcilaso de la Vega avenues.

The Urban Mobility Management department will coordinate with the Peruvian National Police and other relevant authorities to facilitate both vehicular and pedestrian traffic during the fourth procession route.

The Municipality of Lima advises drivers to plan their trips in advance and to check for any changes to their usual routes.
