"Peru, as host of the APEC forum, has placed a strong emphasis on trade and investment as drivers of inclusive and interconnected growth," the Mincetur head said.
The government official noted that the definition of approved projects is the outcome of meetings aimed at identifying good practices that can serve as a reference for developing public policies which also align with APEC's thematic and social agenda, as well as with Peru's priorities.
"The projects are related to good regulatory practices, technological innovations, digitalization and emerging technologies, electronic Bill of Lading, artificial intelligence, public policy analysis, among others. It is a demonstration of the confidence that APEC, as an institution, has in Peru," she indicated.
Similarly,
Minister Leon highlighted the importance of the
APEC Informational Workshop, organized by
Mincetur, for informing the public and private sectors of the achievements made by the sector during the
Second and Third Senior Officials' Meetings of the forum.
In this regard, the government official stated that Peru has been achieving a prominent participation in the trade and investment spaces on the APEC agenda.
Additionally, she highlighted the holding of the three Digital Weeks, an initiative by
Mincetur to put on the agenda various topics related to the advancement of the digital economy.
Between 2000 and 2023, Peru's trade with APEC member economies grew by an average of 9.5% annually. Last year alone, APEC accounted for 67% of Peru's trade with the world.
