A total of 7.8 million voters in Metropolitan Lima Area will participate on April 12 in the vote for the presidential ticket and their representatives to the bicameral Parliament, as part of the 2026 General Elections.
According to data from the electoral system, 7,822,555 voters are eligible to vote in Metropolitan Lima, making the capital the district with the greatest electoral weight in determining national authorities.
On that day, citizens will choose a presidential ticket, as well as their representatives to the Chamber of Senators, Chamber of Deputies, and the Andean Parliament.
Representation in Congress
With the return to a bicameral Parliament, residents of Lima will vote to elect:
- 30 senators elected from a single nationwide electoral district
- 4 senators elected from a multi-member electoral district
- 32 deputies elected from a multi-member electoral district
- 5 representatives to the Andean Parliament
Optional preferential voting will be applied in these processes.
Election day
Voting will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (local time).
