Peru's PM: Government has secured over 70 million COVID-19 vaccines

Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez has affirmed that the President Sagasti's administration secured more than 70 million vaccines against COVID-19, indicating that these are high-quality and efficient.

In this sense, the Cabinet chief stressed that these doses will gradually arrive in greater amounts, adding that 
Peru will rely on 900,000 doses on July 26 destined for the protection of citizens against the pandemic.

"We are going to vaccinate people until the very last minute of this administration in office (July 28, 2021); vaccination teams will continue working. The State cannot stop (…)," she told TVPeru on Friday night.


According to the high-ranking official, vaccines are paid depending on the sent batches, and the rules of each contract.


"The contracts have been signed; there are over 70 million doses secured until the end of the current year," Bermudez emphasized.
