on Saturday announced that 187 road points, which had been blocked in the country, are now clear and vehicles circulate normally.
The high-ranking official once again lamented the deaths of citizens registered during the days of
protests in diverse Peruvian regions, adding that the Government will implement a
reparations program accordingly.
"With some peace of mind, we can see that the population will spend a calm Christmas, and that brings satisfaction to our administration, because we were in a complex situation during such tragic days, but now we are satisfied (with the fact) that Peruvians can live a period of tranquility," he expressed.
In this regard, the
Cabinet chief specified that the control of internal order is held by the
National Police during the
national emergency. Besides, the
Armed Forces work in support of the police. Otarola indicated that Peru is one of the countries where the use of force is most regulated.
"Unfortunately, 26 deaths occurred. Yet that must be investigated by the competent bodies; we are going to support the Prosecutor's Office and the Judiciary," he affirmed.
"There, we explained what had happened, and they were given all support for transfer to the country's interior (regions) because our commitment is that the facts be clarified," he added.
