Flamengo defeat Palmeiras 1–0, clinch 2025 Copa Libertadores title

19:00 | Lima, Nov. 29.

A goal by Danilo was enough for Flamengo to beat Palmeiras 1–0 at Lima's Monumental Stadium and become the 2025 Copa Libertadores champions on Saturday, thus becoming the first Brazilian team to win the continental title four times.

Flamengo claimed the 66th edition of the Copa Libertadores with a headed goal by Danilo after a corner kick taken by Uruguayan Giorgian De Arrascaeta.

The goal came in the 67th minute of a match that Flamengo had already been controlling up to that point.

The "rubro-negro" side —Brazil's most popular club— have now secured their fourth Copa Libertadores title.

With their trophies from 1981, 2019, 2022, and this year, Fla become the Brazilian club with the most Libertadores titles.

Palmeiras, their opponent today, were also seeking the same milestone after conquering the 1999, 2020, and 2021 editions.

Flamengo now have the possibility of a double, as they lead the Brazilian league by five points over Palmeiras with only two matches left to play.
