Peru: 2026 general elections could include 50 parties and 12,000 candidates, JNE estimates

National Elections Board (JNE) Chairman Roberto Burneo estimated that 50 political parties and 12,000 candidates could participate in the 2026 general elections to fill the positions of President, Vice- Presidents of the Republic, deputies, senators, and Andean parliamentarians.
