President Martin Vizcarra announced the new measures adopted by Peru as part of the state of national emergency declared in response to the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the South American country.
Below is a list of the main announcements made on day 24 of the emergency response:
1. So far,
Peru has 4,342 positive cases, based on results obtained from molecular (3,614) and rapid (728) tests. A total of 39,599 samples have been processed, which were obtained from 23,255 molecular and 16,344 rapid tests.
The initial bonus is worth S/380 as it was intended for a period of 15 days. Because of the emergency extension, it will total S/760 (about US$214), which will be paid in two installments.
8. Mining companies shall continue operating but must preserve the environment during the state of emergency, according to Production Minister Rocio Barrios. In this respect, placing on the market of explosives is not permitted.
