Each restrictive measure adopted by the Government of Peru helps lower the curve of the coronavirus pandemic in the country,
COVID-19 Operations Command Head Pilar Mazzetti has affirmed.
When asked about
the latest Government provisions, she expressed: "They help us prevent the virus from spreading from person to person, in such a way that this means we have to continue taking measures."
Each action is convenient to reduce the percentage of the curve a little bit, between 20% and 30%, Mazzetti said, after affirming that it will be further flattened if the entire population scrupulously complies with the mandatory social isolation.
Command's work
Regarding the work carried out by the command, the
former Health Minister reported that the group will meet twice a day, at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., to evaluate the operational actions taken to contain the virus.
In statements to State-run TV Peru channel on Thursday, she noted that there are 500 beds available in intensive care units of all health subsystems across the country.
"We are planning to add another 170 beds, to be implemented in the coming days, so that we exceed the number of beds required to reduce the effect of the pandemic," the official explained.
