Peru President supervises Itinerant Social Action Platform

President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday supervised the Itinerant Social Action Platform (PIAS Yavari) in northeastern Loreto region.

PIAS

An Itinerant Social Action Platform is a floating facility program intended to bring State services to remote and hard-to-reach populations.

Its mission is to provide healthcare, education, identification, nutrition, social assistance, as well as drugs and alcohol counseling services.

The idea is to assist isolated rural populations in accessing basic services provided by the Government.

Early elections

On this occasion, the Head of State indicated the proposal aimed at calling for early general elections is constitutional and can be carried out within the time frame established in the bill.

During his annual Address to the Nation —on the occasion of the country's 198th Independence Anniversary— Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra proposed calling for early general elections by 2020, instead of 2021.
