UN recognizes Peru's commitment to organization's priorities

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres recognized the commitment of Peru to the priorities of the multilateral organization, after meeting with the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General and the Peruvian Head of State addressed the reform of the international financial system, as well as the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

They also discussed the situation in Peru, paying special attention to the challenges posed by El Niño weather phenomenon.  

For his part, Guterres reiterated the UN's support for efforts towards development, governance, and dialogue in Peru.

The meeting took place within the framework of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York City, U.S.
