U.S. Embassy congratulates 32 Peruvian Police officers

The Embassy of the United States in Lima, through its offices the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section (INL), organized a training course "Crisis and Hostage Negotiation" dictated by four FBI instructors to 32 officers from various specialized units of the National Police of Peru (PNP).

The United States reaffirms its commitment to strengthen the capabilities of the PNP to provide security to citizens and support the development and well-being of the country.

FBI Legal Attaché Norman Quilichini; INL Head Charles Sewall; and PNP General Commander Vicente Tiburcio congratulated the 32 police members who completed this intensive training course that started on March 21.

The Head of the Directorate against Terrorism, General Oscar Arriola, is one of the 32 officers certified as negotiators.

The United States Embassy, through the INL, supports the police with a series of training programs and equipment to more effectively combat criminal activity and protect the rights of Peruvian citizens.
