on Thursday guaranteed joint State efforts to mitigate the effects of El Niño phenomenon.
The Head of State participated in the inspection of the Vizcachera ravine in Lima's Lurigancho-Chosica district.
At the site, the top official reviewed government interventions aimed at reducing the risk posed by the weather phenomenon.
Likewise, the President emphasized that she will continue traveling across the country and fulfilling the promises made to the population.
"We, who have been in office for 50 days, will continue working this way, traveling across our country and, above all, keeping our word," Fujimori stated in remarks to local residents and authorities in the area.
The Head of State said actions to address El Niño constitute a joint undertaking by the State, authorities at all three levels of government, as well as the population and the Peruvian National Police.
Likewise, she announced that, as part of these preparedness efforts, a bridge will be built in the area in the coming weeks, as rainfall is expected in mid-November.
Public support
The President underscored the population's support for the work being carried out by the Government.
“Here I would like to say that public support is not only important for pointing out the demands and needs they have, but also for overseeing the work, to know what progress is being made and how many projects are being completed,” she said.
The Head of State highlighted the support provided by local residents to the workers carrying out preparedness efforts in response to El Niño.
Moreover, the top official praised the efforts of National Water Authority (ANA) officials and workers, as well as those of the district mayor.
"We are all part of a team," she concluded.
