U.K. to continue supporting social, economic development in Peru

The United Kingdom will continue to support the economic and social development of Peru, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Peru Kate Harrisson affirmed on Monday.

"The United Kingdom will continue to support the economic and social development of Peru, even through our second round of political consultations in London this Friday. Climate change will be an important issue," she expressed on Twitter. 

Likewise, the British diplomat thanked the Inca country's Agriculture Ministry and the National Forest and Wildlife Service (Serfor) for being the host of the 1st High-Level Conference on Illegal Wildlife Trade in the Americas, which took place in Lima. 

The gathering ended with the signing of the Declaration of Lima, aimed at fighting this illegal business that affects species and their ecosystems.  

"We must protect the wealth we still have," she added.
