Lima Airport Partners (LAP) —operating consortium of Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima— is implementing the precautionary measures set by the Ministry of Health in order to
contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Peru.
As confirmed by Andina news agency, LAP has taken the necessary measures to inform the passengers passing through the airport daily of the care and symptoms of this disease, which has claimed thousands of lives across the world.
"In coordination with Minsa, LAP is implementing diverse measures to facilitate medical assistance and implement all the
protocols here at the airport," LAP Communications Manager Rocio Espinoza expressed.
In addition, LAP added hand sanitizing stations as well as information sections on the care and symptoms of the disease.
"Our role is also informative. Therefore, we have placed informative panels not only at halls but also at restrooms in order to inform of
preventive measures for passengers," she said.
According to LAP's spokesperson, coordination meetings with Minsa staff have led to a series of informative talks with all airport's services and concessionaires that, in one way and another, have contact with passengers.
In this respect, Carlos Valle, a Jorge Chavez Airport taxi driver for over 20 years, affirmed that he has been given informative talks on the measures he should take to protect himself from visitors arriving at Peru's main airport day after day.
