Peruvian Health Minister Elizabeth Hinostroza has put in place the control and isolation of travelers coming from
COVID-19 hotspots at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima —a measure that is framed under supreme decree announced by President Martin Vizcarra.
The measure is being implemented since Wednesday.
The first passengers that underwent the checks were those on a flight from Madrid (Spain).
Also on Wednesday, before the implementation of said measure, Hinostroza and Interior Minister Carlos Moran held a working meeting with representatives of Lima Airport Partners —operator consortium of Jorge Chavez International Airport Lima— to define
the protocol that would apply to passengers from Italy, Spain, France, and China.
With the aim of preventing the spread of the virus in Peru, passengers arriving from these countries are taken directly to special boarding lounges that are equipped with health-care and immigration services.
Information and monitoring
Passengers must fill in a form with information necessary for the monitoring of the disease. Besides, they undergo medical screening upon arrival to rule out any potential novel coronavirus cases.
