The new administration—which will take office on July 28—places itself entirely at the disposal of Pope Leo XIV to ensure his visit to Peru is a success,
Speaking to reporters after visiting the Peruvian Episcopal Conference (CEP), where she met with Monsignor Carlos Garcia, Fujimori Higuchi conveyed to the bishops her great joy over the Holy Father's upcoming visit to Peru later this year in November.
"We told him that the incoming administration is at the Holy Father's disposal to carry out all the necessary coordination and guarantee that this visit is long, successful and, above all, reaches the greatest number of people," she indicated.
The president-elect expressed her gratitude for the meeting at which she also had the opportunity to pray with the CEP bishops.
Earlier on Thursday, the president-elect arrived at the CEP headquarters accompanied by Second Vice President-elect Miguel Torres.
She was received by Monsignor Carlos Garcia at the venue.

Monsignor Carlos Garcia said he was moved that this first step and meeting would take place with the Church at the CEP, where the bishops gather to reflect on the country's common good.
"We also place ourselves at the disposal of the service we all provide together, as the government and as the Church, always in pursuit of the common good of our homeland," he indicated.
