President Sagasti: Peru among first to get COVID-19 vaccines through COVAX Facility

Peruvian President Francisco Sagasti on Sunday highlighted the announcement by the United Nations in Peru, which states the country will be among the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccines through COVAX Facility.

In a statement on social media, the Head of State remarked that Peru has started the day with good news.

Additionally, he noted that protecting the life and health of Peruvians has always been his priority.

He went on to confirm his commitment to further working for all Peruvian citizens.

On Sunday, the United Nations in Peru expressed enthusiasm because the country will be one of the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccines through COVAX Facility.

"Good news! UN Peru celebrates that Peru is one of the first countries to receive COVAX vaccines for COVID-19. Thank you President Sagasti for leading the process and trusting in the support of the international community. So no one is left behind!" the tweet reads.
