"What we want is to have a dynamic, efficient, empathetic state that knows how to listen and does not act as a desk-bound state, and this government has the predisposition and willingness, based on dialogue, to explore alternatives that will allow us to meet the demands of the Peruvian people," the president stated.

During the working meeting with the mayors of 154 population centers in 18 regions of the country, the head of state asserted that there are various structural challenges to overcome, and therefore the Government of Transition and National Reconciliation will focus its efforts on laying the foundations for the Executive branch to function optimally.

To this end, the state's resources will be used to the fullest extent possible to regain the population's trust in the public sector.

"To generate results, we must be organized. The technical teams will be deployed to act swiftly. Let's take advantage of all the tools we have; otherwise, it will be seen as wasted money, and that's not what we want," he stated.

The mayors of the population centers of Ayacucho, Apurímac, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Lambayeque, and Piura, among others, have as their main demand the districtization of their localities, as well as the provincialization of some already established districts.

The Executive Branch pledged to listen to their demands on a sustained basis in this and upcoming working meetings, while ANDIN representatives offered the support of the localities of the Peruvian heartland.
