President Jeri receives credentials from Ambassadors accredited to Peru

The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, participated in the ceremony marking the presentation of letters of credence by the ambassadors of the Commonwealth of Australia, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Hellenic Republic, accredited to Peru.

On this occasion, the Head of State was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Hugo de Zela, as well as Ministry officials and the respective diplomatic missions.

First, the Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Australia to Peru, James Yeomans, presented his letters of credence.

Yeomans is a career diplomat at Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Between 2016 and 2019, he served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy in Lima.

He was followed by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Su-Lin Garbett-Shiels.

She holds a degree in Economics and has worked at the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

Subsequently, the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, Iakovos Iakovidis, presented his letters of credence.

Iakovidis previously served as Director of the General Secretariat for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic.

The ceremony was held in the Golden Hall of the Government Palace in Lima.

Following the presentation of these official documents, the Head of State held private meetings with the ambassadors.

The aforementioned diplomatic representatives are now allowed to carry out their duties in Peru.
