The Peruvian National Police (PNP) has confirmed the arrest of Keysi Salvatierra Vigo, the partner of Jhonsson Cruz, ringleader of the criminal organization "Los Pulpos" (The Octopuses).
She was detained on Monday, January 26, by Bolivian police during an operation in the city of La Paz.
The arrest of Salvatierra—who is accused of kidnapping and contract killings in Trujillo, northern Peru—resulted from a coordinated operation involving Peru's Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dirincri) Anti-Extortion Investigation Division, the Bolivian Police, and the Investigative Police (PDI) in Chile, where she was also being sought by authorities.
Following her arrest and the confirmation of her identity, Bolivian police ordered her immediate handover to Peruvian authorities.
The transfer took place at the Desaguadero International Bridge in the early hours of Tuesday at around 4:00 a.m. (local time).
After her handover, she was transferred to Juliaca, where she remains in custody at a police facility, awaiting transfer to Lima in the coming hours.
Salvatierra is subject to an active arrest warrant for kidnapping and aggravated robbery. She is also under investigation as an active member of the "Los Pulpos" gang.
The suspect is accused of being involved in the kidnapping of Alan Rios Guevara, a young entrepreneur who was held captive for 14 days, an incident that occurred on November 13, 2021.
"There has been a joint operation between the Bolivian and Peruvian police, which led to the capture of this individual, the partner of one of the country's most wanted criminals, Jhonsson Cruz, alias 'El Pulpo' (The Octopus). His arrest is also expected within hours, and we hope recent developments will have a positive outcome," PNP General Commander Oscar Arriola stated.
The Peruvian police team arrived in the neighboring country and later in Juliaca, Puno region, to proceed with the investigations and carry out the detainee's transfer to Peru.
Meanwhile, Dirincri Chief Victor Revoredo stated that Keysi Salvatierra played an active role in various crimes, including kidnapping, contract killings, and other related offenses.
