welcomed Peruvian citizens affected by the earthquake in Venezuela, who were repatriated to Lima on Monday morning.
The Head of State was accompanied by Ministers Carlos Espa (Foreign Affairs), Rafael Belaunde (Defense), and Marco Vinelli (Agrarian Development and Irrigation) on this occasion.
The top official approached the Peruvian Air Force aircraft at Air Group No. 8, which was transporting the repatriated compatriots from Venezuela.
This group comprised 10 citizens who were repatriated to their home country at their express request after facing difficult circumstances following the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela last month.
The President personally welcomed each of the Peruvians who returned to Lima. She received a hug and words of gratitude from all of them.
Before disembarking, the compatriots underwent the required immigration and health checks.
The fellow citizens returned home aboard the same aircraft which, the previous day, had transported three criminals expelled from Peru to Venezuela.
