The Peruvian Government firmly condemned the attacks carried out by Houthi militias against civilian and critical infrastructure in various locations across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including its capital, Riyadh.
Through a statement, Peru said these attacks endanger the lives of innocent civilians and cause extensive material damage.
Likewise, it expressed its deep concern over the regional instability stemming from these actions, considering that they undermine peace, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in Saudi Arabia.
The Peruvian Government also warned that the attacks affect freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, with repercussions for security and international trade.
"In this regard, Peru demanded that the attacks cease and called for respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States," the statement said.
Finally, it reiterated its call for strict compliance with the rules enshrined in international law and the safeguarding of freedom of navigation.
