The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, announced on Friday that a Pact for Peru will be signed with political, social, professional, and academic leaders to ensure that the country does not stop.

"Soon, all the country's leaders—political, academic, professional associations, unions, and everyone willing to contribute to ensuring that Peru cannot stop—will be signing a pact for the country," Mrs. Boluarte stated.

The pact —she said— will guide everything the government has been doing and commit these leaders to continue advancing and building a country for Peruvians and future generations.

"That is the commitment we have as a government," Mrs. Boluarte expressed during the ceremony marking the Ministry of Health's 90th anniversary.

Likewise, the Head of State said the government is developing a development plan to project Peru toward 2040, with actions the country needs in the health, education, housing, agriculture, and other sectors.

"As Peruvians who love our homeland, we are designing a Peru for 2040—something of our own, something unique, something that aligns with our reality," she stated.

2026 Elections

In this context, the President urged citizens to evaluate carefully whom they cast their vote for in the 2026 General Elections.

Likewise, the top official called for supporting "good democrats who truly love the homeland, who truly seek its development, and who truly love Peruvians."

"Let us commit to a Peru that further strengthens its growth, development, unity, and sincere dialogue as compatriots, embraced under the red-and-white flag that fills us—and should continue to fill us—with pride," she expressed.

Plan Mil (One Thousand) for health

On the Health Ministry's anniversary, the President mentioned that the government has the Plan Mil (One Thousand) for the construction of 1,000 primary care centers, aimed at preventing diseases.

The Head of State recalled that the government officials met with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) last week, with the aim of arranging a loan for the construction of these healthcare facilities.

"This project of 1,000 primary care centers nationwide, in the most remote areas of our country, will be launched and set in motion, and the next government will have to complete it because that is the way we work—without political pettiness," she stated.

The top official also highlighted the efforts of healthcare workers, the government’s investments in the construction and equipping of hospitals, as well as labor improvements for staff, which have not "required strikes or work stoppages."

"The appointment they have been waiting for year after year brings peace of mind to the professional and their family," Mrs. Boluarte pointed out.

"There is still room for these appointments, and we will carry them out gradually until the very last moment when I must step down as President, on July 28, 2026," she concluded.
