on Monday called on Peruvians to engage in ongoing dialogue to contribute to the country's development.
The Head of State participated in the inauguration of the Virgen de Chapi Bridge in Arequipa region.
Within this framework, the top official said Peru can become a united and developed country through projects such as this new road infrastructure.
He added that achieving this requires fostering ongoing dialogue.
The top official emphasized that the bridge is the result of efforts spanning several years and makes it possible to envision a brighter future for Peru.
The president said this project will create an extraordinary development hub for the region.
He added that, while investment in initiatives of this kind may be substantial, the returns are far greater because of the wide range of benefits they provide to the population.
Likewise, President Balcazar said he has ordered the immediate signing of the corresponding act so that public works in the transportation sector can continue in Arequipa region.
The Virgen de Chapi Bridge, built with an investment worth over S/170 million (above US$50 million), is a strategic road infrastructure project and one of the main components of the Arequipa–La Joya Highway.
Its seismic-resistant design and balanced cantilever construction system allow it to cross one of the area's most challenging geographical features.
The project will improve connectivity between the Pan-American Highway and Arequipa's industrial, mining, and agricultural areas.
It will also reduce travel times, improve road safety, streamline the transportation of passengers and goods, and reduce heavy truck traffic currently passing through urban areas.
