Poll: Peruvian President's approval rating stands at 82%

The approval of Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra stood at 82% in April, the latest Datum (Pulso Peru) poll revealed on Tuesday.

The survey, published in Gestion newspaper, shows that Mr. Vizcarra's approval rating increased 24 percentage points from last month's poll, in which it stood at 58%. His disapproval rating in April was 9%.

According to the study, his popularity was higher in socio-economic segments C (88%) and A/B (82%).

On the other hand, the regions showing the highest approval ratings are in the East (86%), followed by Lima and Callao (84%).

Moreover, 60% of Peruvians approved of the performance of Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos, whereas 18% disapproved of it.

Regarding state ministers' popularity, 64% of citizens approve of Victor Zamora's performance as Health Minister (23% disapprove), 74% approve of the job Economy and Finance Minister Maria Antonieta Alva is doing (18% disapprove), and 49% approve of the work of Education Minister Martin Benavides (32% disapprove).
