17:00 | Rome (Italy), Oct. 14.

The flight carrying compatriots who had been stranded in Israel, after the Hamas attack, on Saturday departed from the Italian capital, Rome, heading to Peru.

"They are coming back home! President Dina Boluarte and the Peruvians who were in Israel leave Rome for Lima to reunite with their families," the Presidential Office reported via social media.

From Rome, only 25 Peruvians will return to Lima on the official aircraft. The other 17 to remain in Europe will come back to Peru on commercial flights.
