02:38 | Rome (Italy), Oct. 14.

42 Peruvian citizens who were evacuated from Tel Aviv, by order of the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte, have arrived in Rome safe and sound, the Ministry of Defense (Mindef) reported on Saturday.

In a post shared on social media, the Mindef said that the Peruvian nationals arrived in Italy after a 9-hour flight professionally operated by the crew of the Peruvian Air Force.

The Peruvian Air Force Boeing 737-500 aircraft took off from Tel Aviv with 42 compatriots affected in Israel. Most of them will be repatriated to Peru, by order of the Head of State.

Of this amount, 25 have decided to continue the trip from Italy to Peru, which will take effect this Sunday, in the morning.

The remaining 17 compatriots expressed their decision to remain in European territory.

Precisely, Defense Minister Jorge Chavez Cresta reported that the presidential plane carrying Peruvians repatriated from Israel will land in Lima on Sunday, October 15, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Furthermore, he noted that there are more Peruvians in Israel, but they do not wish to be repatriated, so they will remain in said country.

Likewise, the minister explained that, at first, the list of Peruvians who wanted to leave Israel totaled 150, but thanks to the Foreign Affairs Ministry's efforts, they were brought to a border city in two groups.
