Peruvian exports expanded 17.51% in June 2018 compared to the same month last year, National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) reported on Wednesday.

This growth is due to an increase in traditional (18.10%) and non-traditional exports (15.87%).

The most demanded traditional products derived from the mining, fishing, as well as oil-natural gas sectors.

As for non-traditional products, farming, textile, fishery, chemical, and metal-mechanic sectors stood out.

Raw material and intermediate product imports expanded by 21.15% in June 2018 compared to the similar period in 2017, which denoted 23 months of consecutive growth, INEI pointed out.

Total imported goods expanded 9.39% in June 2018 compared to the same month in 2017.

Likewise, imports of capital goods and construction materials rose 2.27%.

On the other hand, consumer good imports dropped 4.13% in June 2018, compared to the same month the previous year.
