The Presidents of Peru, Dina Boluarte, and Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, currently participate in the commemoration ceremony for the 25th anniversary of the Brasilia Peace Accords signing.

The event takes place at the Government Palace Great Dining Room.

The Ecuadorian Head of State arrived at the Courtyard of Honor after 11:30 a.m. (local time). There, he was received with honors by the Mariscal Domingo Nieto (Marshall Domingo Nieto) Cavalry Regiment Escort, as well as by his Peruvian counterpart.

Both leaders are scheduled to issue a joint statement for the anniversary celebrated today, Thursday, October 26.

Similarly, said agreements strengthened the bilateral relationship.

Subsequently, Mrs. Boluarte decorated Mr. Lasso with the Order of the Sun of Peru, in the Rank of Grand Collar, in recognition of his democratic convictions and commitment to the development and integration of both countries.

The Act of Brasilia is a document signed by the Republics of Ecuador and Peru at Itamaraty Palace, in Brazil, on October 26, 1998.

It put an end to 50 years of disputes between both countries that had existed due to the lack of demarcation of a 78-kilometer mutual border, which led to conflict in 1941 and 1995.
