Peruvian cacao promoted worldwide thanks to Virtual Cacao and Chocolate Show

17:16 | Lima, Jun. 10.

Peruvian cacao is promoted by diplomatic and consular missions of Peru around the world, as part of the Cacao and Chocolate Show, which this year will be held online —due to the COVID-19 pandemic— in July.

The information was provided by Foreign Affairs Ministry's Economic Promotion Office Director, Ambassador Jose Eduardo Chavarri, in a letter of reply addressed to the Peruvian Association of Cacao Producers (Appcacao), the main organizer of this important annual event.

Aware of the challenges that the current global health crisis has brought to our country —especially to the cacao sector— "the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates its commitment to continue working together in order to overcome them successfully," reads the letter.

"One of the first actions undertaken by the Foreign Affairs Ministry was to publicize the event within our network of 140 diplomatic and consular missions abroad," the document states.

It also says that the Ministry remains at the disposal of the 2020 Virtual Cacao and Chocolate Show's Organizing Committee, in order to participate in the preparatory meetings and consultations.

In addition, it will contribute to increasing —as much as possible— the participation of people, companies, as well as chocolate and cacao sector associations around the world.
