Peruvian Ambassador presents credentials to Brazilian President

Peruvian Ambassador Javier Yepez has presented his credential letters to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.

The credentials designated Yepez Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the Federative Republic of Brazil

During the ceremony, the Inca country's diplomat reaffirmed Brazil's special importance, as well as Peru's great interest in strengthening the bilateral relations.

In this sense, he highlighted Peru's interest in the development of the next Presidential Meeting with State Ministers in charge of border matters. 

Said audience is being coordinated with Brazil's Foreign Affairs Ministry and will be held in Acre State this November. 

Likewise, Ambassador Yepez reiterated President Martin Vizcarra's invitation for his Brazilian counterpart to the Pacific Alliance Summit set to take place in Lima on July 5. 

Furthermore, the diplomat noted the importance of focusing efforts on the development of border areas in the Amazon. 

On his part, President Bolsonaro expressed complete willingness to continue strengthening the ties between both countries

Moreover, the Brazilian Head of State indicated he has been considering with special interest —alongside Foreign Affairs Minister Ernesto Araujo— his participation in the above-mentioned Summit. 

The ceremony took place at Palacio do Planalto on June 4.
