The top official recalled that countries like Bolivia held elections a week ago, and the United States will hold its own this November, in the midst of a pandemic, but taking all the necessary biosafety measures to avoid COVID-19 contagion.
In this sense, the statesman said there is no reason or justification to think that next year's elections could be at risk.
Today's remarks were made during a televised address to the nation from the Government Palace in Lima.
President Vizcarra was joined by Prime Minister Walter Martos and other Cabinet members on the occasion.
