on Wednesday called on the population to trust her Government, which will restore order and tranquility to Peruvians through various strategies and plans involving the institutions concerned.
These remarks were made during her speech at the celebration of Neighborhood Store Owners' Day, observed every August 12.
"Today, what you are going to see is an absolutely firm Government, which is first and foremost motivating and raising the morale of the institutions that are on the front line, our National Police and our Armed Forces," Fujimori stated.
"(...) We cannot deliver results in 15 days, please, I ask you for patience, but above all, I ask you to trust this Government, because this Government will restore order and tranquility to you," she added.
In this regard, the President noted that coordination work is being carried out between these two institutions, "which did not speak to each other" and there was "a dialogue of the deaf."
"We know that we have to restore order and that we have to live in peace, without fear again," she expressed.
Subsequently, at the end of the ceremony, the top official told the press that "the main objective of our Government is to restore order."
"What you are seeing is coordination among those on the front line, the National Police and the Armed Forces, which are also coordinating with the intelligence service. This process will not be immediate because we are gathering information, but we are already seeing a stronger Police force," she said.
Neighborhood store owners
At another point in her speech, the President recalled former Congressman Hernando Guerra Garcia, noting that the Popular Force Party has always defended small and medium-sized business owners, who, through hard work, dedication, effort, and perseverance, provide for their families.
Furthermore, the top official told neighborhood store owners that they will have the Government's full support because "we have to be consistent with what we have been saying."
Likewise, Fujimori expressed her surprise at being the first Head of State to participate in Neighborhood Store Owners' Day.
Similarly, she lamented that previous presidents had not attended such events and engaged in direct dialogue with this sector.
President Fujimori said improving neighborhood store owners' activities requires removing obstacles and bureaucracy from all procedures aimed at formalization.
"We need the formalization process to be simple and access to credit to be possible, so that small entrepreneurs feel that the State is not an obstacle, but rather that we are their allies," she pointed out.
