said Tuesday afternoon that her Government will be distinguished by making frequent visits to various parts of Peru and delivering concrete results to the population.
"What has happened in recent years is that we have had a drifting State, with no one taking responsibility, while authorities remained in the capital," Fujimori indicated.
The Head of State made these remarks during the presentation of 205 water-use licenses to farmers in the La Libertad region, northern Peru.
"But today you see a Government that moves, travels, responds, and will deliver concrete results," she stated during the official event held in the El Cafetal 111 human settlement, Guadalupe district, Pacasmayo province.
The top official highlighted that some farmers in the area told her they had waited 30 years to receive the license.
"Just imagine the inefficiency of the State; we have to change all that," she said in this regard.
Fujimori also announced that the 205 licenses will not be the only ones to be issued, as the goal is to grant them to more than 1,000 farmers this year.
Actions against El Niño in La Libertad
The President said that, as part of the measures to address the impact of El Niño, priority will be given to addressing 60 critical points in La Libertad region. Thus, S/50 million (about US$14.8 million) will be allocated.
"In La Libertad, we will prioritize 60 critical points, and S/50 million will be transferred to carry out desilting and clearing work. Additionally, in La Libertad, we will work closely with the water users' board, which will oversee the work," she stated.
The Head of State announced that she will return to said region to oversee progress on preventive measures against El Niño.
The top official arrived in La Libertad after making a working visit to Lambayeque, where she presented the National El Niño Phenomenon Risk Management Commission.
This body will help speed up decision-making and coordinate government action in response to rainfall, droughts, and other emergencies that could occur in 2026 and 2027.
The working group will comprise the Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, who will chair it; the Ministers of Defense, Economy and Finance, and Housing, Construction and Sanitation.
It will also include the heads of the National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci) and the National Water Authority (ANA), with the latter serving as technical secretary.
