stated Tuesday that it is a priority for Peru to join the Shield of the Americas to fight the scourge of organized crime that crosses borders in this region.
"It is in our interest and a special priority to be part of the Shield of the Americas, where we will be able to share information to help fight this scourge (organized crime) affecting the entire region," Fujimori stated.
The President noted that she agreed to coordinate with other countries to fight international crime.
Asked about her Government's actions to address citizen insecurity, the top official said the Armed Forces are gradually joining efforts to safeguard the most unsafe areas, ten days into her administration.
Meanwhile, coordination is being strengthened among the institutions that make up the intelligence system and those involved in the administration of justice.
"This will begin to yield results, but what is important here is to work with a strategy and intelligence. And the most important part is to support our National Police and the Armed Forces," Fujimori pointed out.
The Head of State reported that 80 critical points requiring intervention have been identified in Lambayeque.
Of these, 40 will be handled by the Regional Government, while the other 40 will be addressed through coordinated actions by the commission.
After completing these activities in Lambayeque, the President traveled to the La Libertad region, where she continued carrying out a series of official activities alongside State ministers.
