The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Wednesday thanked Congress for giving a vote of confidence to the Ministerial Cabinet led by Anibal Torres.

"Let us show the people that we can govern democratically and that we will be able to respond to the major challenges faced by our country through political agreement," the Head of State posted on Twitter.

"More action, less discussion," he added.

The Cabinet received 64 votes in favor, 58 against, and 2 abstentions.

During the nine-hour session, the Prime Minister presented the Government's general policy and various State ministers answered the questions asked by legislators.

Before leaving the Legislative Branch headquarters, Torres affirmed that the Government will listen and make the necessary corrections. He also called for building consensus.
