Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday morning participated in the establishment of the High-Level Commission on Climate Change.

The event took place as part of a new session of the Council of Ministers held at the Lima-based Government Palace.

The High-Level Commission on Climate Change is the body in charge of implementing climate change mitigation and adaptation actions towards 2050.

In addition, it shall submit a technical report —on the assessed contributions nationwide— to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change every five years.
