The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Tuesday supervised "Fortaleza 2022" (Fortress 2022) —a military training event organized by the Joint Command of the Armed Forces— noting the preparedness of the 1,500 military personnel.

In a message on his Twitter account, the Head of State said that this important training is taking place in northern Peru one more time, after two years of pandemic.

"I am proud of our Armed Forces. I supervised the military tactical operations training Fortaleza 2022, organized by the Joint Command of the Armed Forces-Northern Operational Command (CON), which will strengthen the response capabilities of the land, naval, and air forces in order to protect the (country's) sovereignty," he indicated.

Mr. Castillo noted that, from Pampas de Congora in Piura, he was able to witness the preparedness and skills of more than 1,500 military members of the Armed Forces.

"I highlight the work of those who make up the Northern Operational Command, whose military operations protect our borders and contribute to the development of the country," he remarked.

Additionally, the top official reported that Defense Minister Daniel Barragan, as well as the general commanders of the Army, Air Force, and the chief of the Naval Command, participated in this military exercise.
