The
reaffirmed the reestablishment of diplomatic relations with the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and ratified the recognition of its sovereignty.
During a working meeting the Head of State held with Foreign Affairs Minister Mohamed Salem Uld Salek, the possibility of an SADR Embassy operating in Peru was raised.
Within this framework, Mr. Castillo pointed out that these elements are essential for democratic institutions, the balance of powers, and the country's economic reactivation.
The meeting was also attended by Peru's Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Roberto Sanchez, Permanent representative to the United Nations Manuel Rodriguez Cuadros, as well as by a delegation of the SADR Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The gathering was held at the Peruvian Consulate in New York City last Wednesday.
