Peru's President lands in U.S. to participate in APEC Leaders' Summit

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte has arrived in San Francisco, United States, to participate in the 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting.

The Peruvian Air Force airplane carrying the Head of State landed at San Francisco International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

Upon arrival, the top official was welcomed by a U.S. government protocol official; Peruvian Presidential Office Protocol Director Jaime Cacho-Sousa; and the General Consul of Peru based in the North American country.


According to the official schedule, the presidential trip started on Tuesday at 00:05 hours (Peruvian time).

The aircraft had taken off from Air Group No. 8 in Callao region, Peru.

Authorization


This measure was officialized via Legislative Resolution No. 31924 published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on November 10.

The purpose of this authorization is for the Head of State to participate in the 30th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.

Within this framework, Peru will receive the Pro-Tempore Presidency of the APEC forum.

According to the document, the top official will remain in charge of the Presidential Office using digital technologies, which adopt digital security mechanisms and guarantee the security of the means to be used.

This measure was established within the framework of the provisions of Article 8-A of Law No. 29158 (Organic Law of the Executive Branch) introduced by virtue of Law No. 31810, as well as the current regulations regarding digital security and trust in Peru.
