The
President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Tuesday affirmed that
new Interior Minister Victor Torres Falcon will respond to the demands of citizens and the entire country, accordingly.
"We have administered the oath of office to the new Minister of Interior (Victor Torres Falcon), who has to fulfill a difficult mission, but we are sure he will respond to the demands of citizens and the entire country, accordingly," she said.
Likewise, the Head of State affirmed that even though security is essential for the country's growth, the Government also understands that
development is impossible without education; hence the launch of 10,000 scholarships under
Beca 18 (Scholarship 18 Program) for next year, posting an increase of 100%.
Moreover, the dignitary highlighted the supplementary credit of more than S/5 billion (about US/1.33 billion) to face El Niño phenomenon, noting that her administration does not respond reactively, such as previous governments, but preventively.
"In line with prevention, the Ministry of Defense has implemented 11 battalions of the Peruvian Army to meet the emergency. The Armed Forces are always present when people need them," she remarked.
Regarding the fifth administration report, the Peruvian President explained that the Executive Branch gives this press conference every two months, adding that said report provides detail about all the actions implemented from September to October.
"11 months ago, when we took office, we pledged to work tirelessly for the 33 million Peruvians and to account for our actions in an open, honest, and transparent manner, to stand firm in the fight against corruption, and we will continue to do so," she added.
