Peru's President highlights ministerial trips to regions

The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra on Thursday highlighted the fact that State ministers permanently travel to Peruvian regions with the aim of attending to the most urgent demands in times of COVID-19.

"Every day and every week, ministers are on the field, they visit regions throughout the territory because our government's policy has a national approach," he expressed.

"We articulate national policies from the ministries, but we implement them in regions by coordinating with the three government levels: national, regional and local ones," he added.

In this sense, the top official specified that four ministers were visiting different regions in order to coordinate with local authorities the efforts to face the pandemic.

In this sense, he noted that Labor Minister Javier Palacios travelled to Ica, Interior sector head Jorge Montoya departed for Apurimac, Energy and Mines portfolio chief Luis Inchaustegui visited Ancash, and Production Minister Jose Salardi arrived in Lambayeque region. 

Remarks were made in a press conference held at the Government Palace in Lima.
