The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday affirmed that the Government promotes a national dialogue for social peace, reconciliation, economic growth, and development, which includes all sectors without any exclusions.

Mrs. Boluarte participated virtually in the Voice of Global South Summit.

Within this framework, the Head of State said she has the obligation to guarantee the life and rights of compatriots.

The top official added she is convinced that the majority of Peruvians are committed to living in peace, order, and calm.

"Therefore, it is imperative that, within the framework of respect for the law and the rule of law, we must restore public order and —at the same time— strengthen, as a Government, our capacity to respond to the needs of citizens," she affirmed.

Afterwards, the Head of State reiterated her sorrow for the death of civilians and a police agent during the violent acts of protest.

Likewise, Mrs. Boluarte reiterated, before the international community, the work being carried out by her administration to hold early general elections.

On the other hand, the top official affirmed that Peru will continue to bet on multilateralism, the rule of law, and the preservation of a democracy which meets the most urgent citizen needs —especially those of the most vulnerable populations.

Furthermore, President Boluarte pointed out that, beyond the differences which exist among countries, it is time to face the challenges affecting humanity.

"Therefore, we must join forces and articulate initiatives so that our voices are taken into account in this complex global context," she said.

The Voice of Global South Summit is an initiative of India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi —within the framework of the presidency of the G20 exercised by said country for one year (since December 1, 2022). It aims to identify points of view of developing countries and forward them to the intergovernmental forum.
