Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez on Monday met with members of the Congress Board to agree on the date for the Ministerial Cabinet to present the Government's general policy and request a vote of confidence.
According to Vasquez, this date was chosen because the 2021 Public Budget approval is currently on the Parliament's agenda, and the deadline for passing it is November 30.
"We have discussed the schedule for the request for a vote of confidence, and we agreed that it should be made on December 3 and 4," she said in remarks to the media.
Moreover, she commented that —starting November 28—
Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez will be able to meet with political groups in order to discuss the topics that should be addressed during this term in office.
"I want to thank the readiness of the Executive Branch, which is willing to open up this dialogue from Parliament itself," the head of Congress stated.
"She (Violeta Bermudez) will come to meet with different parliamentary groups here and then, on December 3 and 4, we will hold a Congress plenary session to hear their proposals and decide on the vote of confidence," she added.
In accordance with Article 130 of the Constitution, the President of the Council of Ministers must attend Congress to present the Government's general policy statement and request a vote of confidence within the first 30 days in office.
