Peru's PM: Government to publish vaccination schedule

15:03 | Lima, Jan. 30.

Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez on Saturday affirmed that the Executive Branch will publish a vaccination schedule once the Sinopharm vaccines land in Peru, thus avoiding confusion.

Today, the high-ranking official indicated that the Health Ministry relies on 42 vaccination centers, while the Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) has 22 nationwide.

"From the Executive Branch, we will publish a schedule clearly pointing out the vaccination site; we are coordinating with regional and local governments so that they can help spread the information," she told RPP radio and TV station.

Likewise, the Cabinet chief explained that the schedules will be published in accordance with the
group to be vaccinated, such as doctors and nurses, as well as health personnel from the police and the armed forces.

She went on to add that polling station members will be vaccinated prior to the general elections scheduled for April 11. This will depend on whether the doses arrive before the elections.
