The distribution of 700,000 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 —which arrived in Peru last Saturday— will begin on February 17 to continue with the vaccination process nationwide, Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez announced on Tuesday.

The high-ranking official indicated that —between yesterday and today— the State-run National Center for Supply of Strategic Resources in Health (Cenares) focused on working on the paperwork for the distribution of the second batch of Sinopharm vaccines purchased by the Peruvian State.

In this sense, the Cabinet chief reiterated the Government's commitment to guarantee the provision of vaccines for all Peruvians before the end of President Francisco Sagasti's term in office, which is scheduled for July 28, 2021.

Remarks were made during a press conference in Lima.
